Lucknow: The new academic session at Amity University Lucknow Campus commenced on Monday with a traditional Vedic Havan-Poojan and an Student Induction programme “Deeksharambha-2026” for students admitted to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The event marked the beginning of the students’ academic journey and introduced them to the University’s academic environment, culture and support systems.
The “Deeksharambha-2026” programme was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus; Wing Commander (Retd.) Dr. Anil Tiwari, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Rajeev Verma, Dean – Student Welfare; and Prof. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Dean – Academics, along with Heads of Departments, faculty members and newly admitted students.
Addressing the gathering virtually, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said that Amity is a global university committed to nurturing students through holistic education and preparing them to meet future challenges. She highlighted the vision of the University’s Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, to contribute towards making India a global superpower by 2030 and a developed nation by 2047 through excellence in education.
Welcoming the freshers, Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht encouraged students to embrace the opportunities available at the University and strive for academic excellence, innovation and personal growth. He wished them success in their academic pursuits and future careers.
As part of the “Deeksharambha-2026”, students were familiarised with the University’s academic regulations, campus facilities, student support services, extracurricular opportunities and institutional values. University officials said the programme was designed to help new students transition smoothly into campus life and build a strong foundation for their academic journey.
